Charlotte Christian back in title game
Charlotte Christian is in a Chick-fil-A Classic title game for the second straight season after defeating host school Richland Northeast 64-42 on Thursday. The Knights won one of two tournament brackets in the 2005 tournament.
Damier Pitts scored 18 points and had 6 rebounds to lead Charlotte. Teammates Omar Carter and Seth Curry added 15 and 14 points, respectively.
LaBrandon Carmichael led the Cavaliers with 18 points and 8 rebounds.
Charlotte Christian (9-1) plays California team Horizon (9-1) at 6:30 p.m. Friday for the Classic II bracket title. Richland Northeast (8-4) faces John Carroll (10-2) in the third-place game at 3:30 p.m. Friday.
