Charlotte Christian comes back to down Lower Richland

Local team and defending Chick-fil-A Classic champion Lower Richland lost Wednesday to Charlotte Christian 58-56 after leading by 11 at halftime.

Charlotte Christian (Charlotte, NC) hit seven three-pointers in the contest, four of them in the second half. Stephen Curry, son of former NBA player Dell Curry, led the Knights with 24 points and seven rebounds. Teammate Damier Pitts had 14 points.

The Diamond Hornets’ top scorer was Mike Jones, who collected 13 rebounds to go along with his 17 points. Kenny McFadden added 14; Javar McClary had 12.

Charlotte Christian (12-0) plays Dunwoody (GA) at 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Lower Richland (6-1) plays Lancaster (SC) at 1 p.m. Thursday.
