Game 5 Summary

 

Hamilton handles S.C. team in first round

 

Hamilton High exploded to a 50-18 halftime lead and boasted four starters in double-digits in its 93-45 win Wednesday over Greer High in the Chick-fil-A Classic basketball tournament.

 

The Wildcats (Memphis, TN) were led by Jeremy Williams’ 16 points and 12 rebounds. Teammates Joseph Watkins, Deveyon Hunter and Broderick Gilchrest scored 15, 13 and 11, respectively.

 

The Yellow Jackets (Greer, SC) had three starters with double-digit scoring, with Jamar Dean posting a double-double (12 points, 13 rebounds). Treal Davis had 13 points, six rebounds and three blocks. Justin Anderson added 10 points.

 

Greer turned the ball over 26 times to Hamilton’s 13.

 

Hamilton (10-0) plays host school Richland Northeast at 6 p.m. Thursday. Greer (2-5) plays Tabernacle Baptist at 11:30 a.m. Thursday.
