LR rolls; Chip Atkins earns 600^th career coaching win

Lower Richland used a strong second half and 31 visits to the free-throw line to get its second win of the Chick-fil-A Classic in a 61-53 victory over Winter Park.

The win was coach Chip Atkins’ 600^th of his career. Mike Jones led the Diamond Hornets (Hopkins, SC) with 23 points and 13 rebounds. Javar McClary added 13 points and six boards.

John Pietkiewicz scored 16 for the Wildcats (Winter Park, FL). Jeremiah Rivers added 15 points, eight assists and five rebounds.

Lower Richland is 8-1 on the year. Winter Park falls to 8-3.
