Tennessee’s Hamilton High tops host team, moves to title game

 

Defending tournament champ and host school Richland Northeast High fell 55-51 Thursday to Hamilton High in the Chick-fil-A Classic.

 

The Wildcats (Memphis, TN) secured the win and a spot in one of two classic finals behind 22 points and five rebounds from Deveyon Hunter.

 

The Cavaliers (Columbia, SC) were led by Lucas Hargrove’s 16 points, nine rebounds and four blocks. Teammates James Barfield and Brandon Bolden scored 13 each. Barfield added eight rebounds and seven assists.

 

Hamilton (11-0) plays at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Classic II Championship against S.R. Butler (AL). Richland Northeast (8-1) plays Lexington Catholic (KY) in the third-place contest at 3:20 p.m. Friday.
