The Warhorses of Charles Owens High School are coached by Roger
Schnepp. Last years team made it to the semifinals of their
conference tournament and to the second round of the state
playoffs. 6’10 Wake Forest bound David Weaver is again expected
to lead the way along with fellow returning letterman Brad
Thurman. If other returning and new players can step up, look
for a big season from the Warhorses.

David Weaver
David is a 6’10 senior center who averaged 14 points, 10
rebounds, and 5 blocked shots per game during the 2003-2004
season. He is a nationally ranked top 100 senior who has
committed to play next year at Wake Forest University.

The Red Raiders

The Red Raiders of Baylor School return all 5 starters and 4
other lettermen from last years team that finished with a 18-9
record and advanced to the quarter-finals of the Tennessee State
Tournament. The Red Raiders will be led by seniors Jonathan
Adams and Trey Tindell. Coach Austin Clark is beginning his 23rd
year as coach of the Baylor School. Coach Clark has been named
“Coach of the Year” seven times during his coaching career at
the helm of the Red Raiders.

Jonathan is a 6’5 senior who averaged 20 points and 12 rebounds
per game during the 2003-2004 season. Jonathan is committed to
Old Dominion.

The Bobcats

|
The Glenn Bobcats experienced a very sucessful 2003-2004 season
under first year head coach Lee Reavis. The Bobcats finished the
season with a 21-5 record and earned a #1 seed in the NCHSAA
State Playoffs. The 2004-2005 team returns 7 lettermen including
All-Conference players Eric Wallace(So) and Zalinor Banks(Jr)
and should again challenge for the State Championship. Wallace
and Banks are expected to provide leadership to the team both
offensively and defensively.

Eric Wallace
Eric is a 6’5 sophmore who averaged 10 points and 7 rebounds
during the 2003-2004 season. He is ranked in some publications
as one of the top sophmore players in the nation.

The Warriors
East Ridge High School

|
The East Ridge Warriors return 3 starters and four top subs from
last season’s Region Championship team that finished with an
overall record of 24-8. In only the second year as a school, the
Warriors have captured back to back District Championships and
compiled a record of 43 wins and 18 losses. East Ridge head
coach, James Hurley became one of the youngest coaches ever (age
27) in the state of Kentucky to guide a team to the “Sweet
Sixteen” State Tournament. Coach Hurley has a career record of
79 wins, 40 losses in four seasons as a head coach.

The Panthers

Pinewood finished the 2003-2004 season as the SCISA State
Runners-Up with a record of 25 wins and 7 losses. During the
course of the season, Coach Pat Eidson recorded his 500th career
win. It marked the 17th time in his 25 years of coaching that
his team recorded 20 wins in a season. Coach Eidson’s teams have
won six state championships. Sean Sweeney, Matthew Simmons, and
John Campbell are expected to play key roles in the success of
the 2004-2005 team.

Sean is a 6’3, 225 lb senior center. In 2003-2004, he averaged
10 points and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 55% from the
floor.

The Cyclones

The Cyclones return 9 lettermen from last seasons team that
finished in the final four of the SC Class 3A State Playoffs. In
2003-2004, Chester captured the school’s first Region
Championship in boys basketball while posting a record of 20
wins and 8 losses. The Cyclones will be led by returning
All-State point guard Devan Downey. Downey has scored over 1500
points and averaged over 20 points per game during his career.
Chester is coached by DeAndre Scott. Over the past 3 seasons,
the Cyclones have increased the number of victories each season
by 5 wins.

Devan Downey
Devan is a 5’10 All-State point guard who averaged 27 points and
6 assist per game in 2003-2004. Devan is a nationally ranked top
50 senior who has offers from Tennessee, South Carolina,
Maryland, Miami, and Arkansas.

The Green Hornets

|
Aiken High School won its first Region Championship in over 25
years during the 2003-2004 season. The future looks bright for
the 2004-2005 season as the Hornets return 3 starters and 6
other lettermen from last season’s 22-3 team. Seniors Terrance
Smith and Olajuwan Paige lead an experienced backcourt and hope
to provide great leadership for the young and talented Hornets.
Aiken has 4 sophmores, led by 6’7 Marshall Moses, who will play
major roles in the success of the team. Coach Thomas Ryan is
beginning his 4th year as coach of the Hornets.

Terrance is a 6’1 senior guard who averaged 8 points, 4 assist,
and 3 rebounds during the 2003-2004 season. Terrance was named
to the All-Region last season.

The Diamond Hornets

The Lower Richland Diamond Hornets finished last season as the
SC Class 4A State Runners-Up with a record of 26 wins and 3
losses. The Diamond Hornets are among the premier basketball
teams year in and year out in the state of South Carolina. Lower
Richland is coached by legendary coach Chip Atkins. In thirty
two years, Coach Atkins has 568 career wins which is 3rd
all-time in South Carolina. His teams have won 18 Region
Championships and have made 2 appearances in the State Finals.
The 2004-2005 Diamond Hornets are led by returning All-Region
and All-State players Jeremiah Richardson and Mike Jones and
should again challenge for the State Championship.

Mike Jones
Mike Jones is a 6’7 junior who averaged 17 points and 10
rebounds during the 2003-2004 season. He made both the
All-Region and All-State teams as a sophmore. Mike is a
nationally ranked top 50 junior.

The Blazers

Ridge View is coached by veteran coach Vince Lowry. Coach Lowry
has had success coaching at three high schools in the Columbia
area. In 2003-2004, the Blazers finished the season with a
record of 14-12 while advancing to the State Playoffs for the
second consecutive season. Six of the teams 12 losses were by an
average of just 3 points per game. The 2004-2005 edition of the
Blazers will be led by senior Torrey Davis, and juniors John
Washington and Thomas Smith.

Torrey is a 5’10 senior point guard who averaged 6 points and 4
assist during the 2003-2004 season. Torrey has been a starter
since he was a sophmore. Coach Lowry says that “Torrey is one of
the smartest point guards that I have coached and he does an
excellent job of running our team.”

In 2003-2004, the Butler Bulldogs finished the season as
Georgia’s Class 3A State Runners-Up with a final record of 30
wins and 3 losses. This year the Bulldogs return 2 starters and
6 other lettermen. Butler will be led by juniors Antuanne Kerr
and Tyrese Harris. The coach of the Bulldogs is Rob Johnson.

The Green Wave is coached by Michael Turner. In 2003-2004, Coach
Turner led Leeds to the Final 16 in the Alabama State
Tournament. In 2004-2005, with the return of all 5 starters and
4 other lettermen, the Green Wave hopes to go even farther.
Leeds will be led by seniors Joey Cameron, Cord Robbins, Jeremy
Glover, and junior Joey Taylor.

rebounds per game during the 2003-2004 season. Joey is a
nationally ranked top 50 senior who has committed to the
Auburn University.

The Greyhounds return 4 starters and 6 other lettermen from the
2003-2004 season in which they lost in the first round of the
state regionals to the team that eventually won the State
Championship. Juniors Vernon Macklin (6’10) and Benjamin Finney
(6’4) are expected to provide leadership and scoring for the
2004-2005 squad. I.C. Norcom is coached by Horace Lambert.

The Cavaliers

The 2004-2005 Cavaliers return two starters and three other
lettermen who gained valuable experience on last year’s 15-11
team that advanced to the second round of the 2003-2004 4A State
Playoffs. The Cavaliers have now made the state playoffs for 10
consecutive seasons and have advanced beyond the first round
each of those ten years. Seniors Shondre Guest, and Ayman
Eggleston, along with junior Lucas Hargrove will be counted on
heavily to help lead the Cavaliers to another sucessful season
under Coach Jason Powell.

rebounds per game during the 2003-2004 season. He is a player
who has worked tremendously hard to improve his fundamentals and
has become a solid force for our team.

wins, 7 losses and a final ranking of #7 in Class 6A. Returning
senior starter Mario Sisinni along with talented underclassmen
Erick Green (Jr) and Chris Warren (Soph) are again expected to
lead Dr. Phillips to another sucessful season. The Panthers are
coached by Anthony Long.

The Raiders

Last year the Raiders of Keenan won the Classic I bracket of the
Chick-fil-A Classic by defeating Benjamin Mays (GA) by a score
of 55 to 45. The Raiders are coached by Zack Norris. In Coach
Norris five years at Keenan, the Raiders have won 20 or more
games each year including back to back Class 3A State
Championships his first two seasons. Beginning his 20th season
as a head coach, Coach Norris has a record of 353 wins and 124
losses. Keenan returns three starters and six other lettermen
from last season’s 23-3 team and is expected to again challenge
for the State Championship. The Raiders will be led by
All-Region performers Terrance Asmond and Travis Sligh.

Since Coach Ken Spencer arrived in 1998, Marlboro County has
made the state playoffs each season including a State 4A
Runner-Up finish in 2000 and a State 4A Championship in 2001.
The Bulldogs has won their Region’s Championship the last five
years in a row. Marlboro is a fast paced and defensive minded
team that can put points on the scoreboard. Last season the
Bulldogs made it to the 4A State Playoffs Quarter-Finals and
finished with an overall record of 18 wins and 9 losses.

Cassan is a 6’7 senior who averaged 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 4
assist per game in 2003-2004. He was selected both All-Region
and All-State last season. Cassan is a nationally ranked top 75
